This city is famous for its amazing features, which is the stone sculpture on teh rocks. This amazing ancient city was discovered by a Switzerland explorer in 1812. It was described by John William Burgon in his sonnet as a rosy city. During 1985 this site was one of the world heritage by UNESCO.It was known as the most precious possession of human heritage culture. The place was sorrounded by big rocks and never ending streams. Long time ago, according to history it was once a military fortress during the reign of Roman Empire. The place was destroyed by an earthquake.Petra
